Motion Sensors

Motion sensors provide a second line of defense when paired with door and window contacts. As the name implies, a motion sensor can detect movements within the specified range of its coverage.

When activity is detected, it will send a message to your master control panel to either sound an alarm or contact our Central Station so we can contact authorities.

Typically, motion sensors are placed at the front entry, and the family room with entertainment electronics, or a room that is located in an area of the home through which an intruder must pass to reach other rooms in the home.

For families with large pets, there are motion sensors that feature “pet immunity”. These sophisticated motion sensors can detect the difference between a human intruder and a large house pet with advanced infrared technology.

Our professionals will work with you to select the correct model and most effective location for your motion sensors.

Configurations can include:

  • Bedroom hallways
  • Family rooms with entertainment electronics
  • Rooms in the middle of the home through which an intruder must pass to reach other rooms
  • “Spot protection” of valuables, such as jewelry or artwork
