Electric Eye

Electric eyes are used for a long-range straight line of site security protection. With a photo detection range of up to hundreds of feet, a Photoelectric Beam Sensor is the ideal infrared (IR) light beam detector.

It can also be used for “present” detection in automated manufacturing processes, garage door security, entry detection, as a parking position sensor, or an intrusion alarm.

A focused infrared (IR) light beam is projected from the emitter and detected by the receiver that is placed at the other side of the detection area. The photoelectric beam sensor detects when the infrared beam is broken due to the passing of a person, or the presence of an object, in the path of the infrared beam. A relay built into the receiver alerts you that a breech of the beam has occurred, or that an object has entered or passed through the photoelectric infrared beam.
